2017 Ride of the Mustang - Ride for One, Ride for All!

Ride of the Mustang is a fundraiser for George McDougall High School in Airdrie, Alberta.

6 years, over $649,000 raised, over 3000 participants, and we still continue to "Ride for One, Ride for All"

This year's Ride will take place April 11th - April 13th 2017.

The success of the Ride of the Mustang event earned George McDougall High School the 2014 Generosity of Spirit Award.

GMHS has set a goal of 777,000 as the cumulative 7 year total.  In the past 6 years, the event has raised over $649,000!

As the seventh year of George McDougall High School’s annual Ride of the Mustang approaches, students and staff members are striving for a goal of $777,000 as a cumulative total over the 7 years of the Ride. As in the past, any and all money raised through this event will be donated in its entirety to the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation to help kids who are fighting cancer. Over the past six years, the George McDougall community has raised over $649,000 for this cause, which has made a tremendous impact to the Alberta Children’s Hospital and to those who rely on its services. Currently, the Ride is one of the top fundraising charity events in Alberta organized by youth.

Prior to the event, our school will be gathering donations from around the community in the form of pledges and sponsorship.

Cancer has not only impacted a great many people around the world, but it has also touched the lives of many members within our own school and community. As stated by George McDougall alumni Amy Nelson, “...[Ride of the Mustang] is our way of saying that people with cancer are not alone, and that even though they may not see it, they have a huge amount of people supporting them.”

George McDougall High School is extremely appreciative of the tremendous amount of support that we have received in the past, and we hope to continue to make an impact for such an important and worthy cause.
