This year's 8th annual Ride of the Mustang took place March 27, 2018- March 29, 2018.

The success of the Ride of the Mustang event earned George McDougall High School the 2014 Generosity of Spirit Award.

In 8 years this event has raised over $850,000!

Year eight of George McDougall High School’s annual Ride of the Mustang concludes another successful Ride with a grand total of 98,201.13 this year and money still coming in. As in the past, any and all money raised through this event will be donated in its entirety to the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation to help kids who are fighting cancer. Over the past eight years, the George McDougall community has raised over $850,000 for this cause, which has made a tremendous impact to the Alberta Children’s Hospital and to those who rely on its services. Currently, the Ride is one of the top fundraising charity events in Alberta organized by youth.

Prior to the event, our school gathered donations from around the community in the form of pledges and sponsorship.

Cancer has not only impacted a great many people around the world, but it has also touched the lives of many members within our own school and community. As stated by George McDougall alumni Amy Nelson, “...[Ride of the Mustang] is our way of saying that people with cancer are not alone, and that even though they may not see it, they have a huge amount of people supporting them.”

George McDougall High School is extremely appreciative of the tremendous amount of support that we have received in the past, and we hope to continue to make an impact for such an important and worthy cause.
